Why is this game considered an international sport in India?
Egypt (4000 years ago):
When wall paintings were observed inside pyramids, there were depictions of people playing with bent wooden sticks and round ball-like objects. Similar games were later found in Persia, Greece, and China.
Then came the British. In the 1800s, the British developed and formalized the game of hockey. In 1885–86, the game was introduced to India, and in the beginning, it was played only by British soldiers, officers, and their families. Indians had very few opportunities to participate.
Gradually, Indian students – especially from colleges in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Lahore – began learning the game.
In 1885, after the establishment of the Calcutta Hockey Club, friendly matches between British clubs and Indian teams began.
Initially, the British had advantages in physical fitness, organization, and turf experience, so Indian teams often lost.
However, the speed, ball control, and stick work of Indian players amazed the British.
Turning point in the 1920s:
After World War I, Indian teams became stronger.
In 1922–23, the Indian hockey team toured England and defeated many British clubs. Eventually, the British acknowledged that Indian players could compete at the international level.
In the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, England wasn’t present, but India earned worldwide recognition by winning gold.
In the 1948 London Olympics – independent India’s first Olympic appearance – the final match was India vs. England.
India won 4-0, defeating England and clinching gold.
This victory was not just in sports, but politically symbolic – as India defeated its former rulers on their own soil.
When talking about hockey, Major Dhyan Chand must be mentioned.
His magical control over the hockey stick left the world in awe.
There are even stories that German dictator Hitler offered Dhyan Chand to play for Germany after watching him play.
A moment of joy returned for India in 2021, when India won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Odisha government gave continuous support to Indian hockey.
In schools and among the youth, hockey began to inspire again.
The Women’s Hockey Team also performed brilliantly at the Olympics.
Origin of the word “Hockey”:
The word “hockey” likely originates from the Old French word “hoquet,” which means “curved stick.”
But what happened next?
After 1980, India’s hockey performance started declining. The popularity of cricket and other sports grew, while hockey began to fade.
Yet…
Hockey is not just a game for India – it’s a symbol of pride, honor, and skill. The 1948 London Olympic victory remains one of the most golden moments in Indian sports history.
So, why doesn’t hockey get the same attention as cricket?
Despite legendary players like:
Dhyan Chand – “The Wizard of Hockey,” three Olympic golds (1928, 1932, 1936)
Balbir Singh Sr. – Most goals in Olympic history, three golds (1948, 1952, 1956)
Leslie Claudius – Four Olympic medals

These names and faces may not be remembered by many of you because we never gave hockey the same love we gave cricket.
That’s why I’m here again – to remind you of an old memory.
Because for the nation’s sport, there must be passion – no matter what the game is.

Today is the era of technology, but more importantly, it is the time to awaken and become aware. People today are extremely fond of trying new foods, but have we ever tried to find out where that food comes from, or how it is made?
Have we ever questioned how it is being offered so cheaply and in such unlimited quantity? Probably not. Because we are satisfied just by seeing the presentation of food, we don’t feel the need to look any further.
Now even branded food is no guarantee of purity. It may just carry a name – sometimes the quality is so low that even street vendors would feel ashamed.
You might remember an advertisement showing a 5-star restaurant sourcing food from a roadside vendor through the backdoor and serving it in expensive dishes – that wasn’t far from reality.
Now let’s talk about the main issue. I have written this blog to raise awareness among people. God has given us this life for a purpose, so let us use it for good deeds. It is said that God resides in our hearts – then why are we filling our bodies with chemicals and toxins that reduce our lifespan, and not even to become healthier, but to shift from one illness to another, ultimately landing in hospitals?

There is still time. Our grandparents lived up to 100 years. We may not even live half of that. Understand this well. They consumed simple, homemade, and pure food. Today, not a single thing we buy from outside is original or pure.
Even if my words don’t affect most people, if it reaches just 5% and they take it seriously, then my message is successful.
Almost every item today contains dangerous chemicals – there’s no limit. Below I’ve shared some videos. It’s up to you to decide if they’re real or not.
In foreign countries, adulteration is minimal. Corruption might exist there too, but not in food and beverages. Today, we are producing more fakes than even China. We’ve become masters in corruption – because we apply more brainpower in figuring out how to commit corruption without being caught than in doing actual work.
Because of this corruption, even officials have instilled in the common people the confidence that, “If nothing else, I’ll just bribe and get my work done – what’s there to worry about?”
And that is why this corruption has now entered our homes and our bodies in the form of poisonous food.
What do we see in the news every day?
Drunk driving – hit and run – so many deaths. Who is responsible?
Dead lizards or rats found in hotel food. Who is responsible?
Road collapses and people die. Who is responsible?
Bridges and roads falling apart. Who is responsible?
Do women feel safe walking alone?
Breaking into homes has become easy for thieves – why?
People are killing each other over petty issues – where is the fear?
You already know the answers, but no one will give them. Because until something personally happens to someone, they don’t wake up.
So for whom am I writing this article? Why am I putting in all this effort?
Still, remember this: If you keep saying, “It’s okay, we don’t eat out every day,” or “We’ll manage, we’ll pay and get our work done,” — phrases we use a thousand times in life…
Then remember: The day nature starts thinking the same way, you won’t even get time to take your last breath.
Today, every country is facing internal conflict, the wrath of past sins, natural disasters, and most importantly – people are losing their patience.
You must be witnessing this every day.
So is this delicious food we eat every day outside… Really food? Or is it a pathway to disease?
The medicines we take — are they really cures? The polluted air we breathe? Vegetables soaked in chemicals? Fruits ripened with toxic substances?
What’s the answer?
Even after having crores of rupees, COVID taught us that money alone cannot save us.
So stop living under the illusion that money will fix everything.
It’s time to seek solutions to these problems. For your life. And for the future generations.

તે તો કદાચ કોઇ દિવસ વિચારીયુ જ ના હોય, કેમ કે આપણે તો ખાવા ની વાનગી જોઈ ને જ ખુશ થઈ જતા હોય છે, પછી બીજુ તો શુ જોવું, હવે તો એવું પણ નથી રહ્યું,કે બ્રાંડ વાળી વસ્તુ ખાવ તો એમાં કોઇ ભેળ-સેળ નહી હોય, એતો નામ જ બ્રાંડ હોય છે, બાકી તો કદાચ લારીવાળા ને સરમાવે તેવી હોય છે. તમને યાદ હોય તો એક એડ આવતી હતી.5 સ્ટાર રેશ્ટોરંટ વાળો પાછળ ના દરવાજા થી લારીવાળા પાસે થી ખાવા નું લહી ને રેસ્ટિરંટ માં મોધી ડીશો માં પિરશ્તો કદાચ કોઇ એ જોયુ હશે.એ વાસ્તિવિક દર્શાવતુ હતું.
હવે વાત મુદા ની કરવાની છે.આ બ્લોગ મે લોકો ની જાગ્રુતી માટે બનાવીયો છે,ભગવાન જીવન આપણે ને કઈ ને કઈ સારુ કાર્ય કરવા માટે મોકલીયા છે, તો ઉપયોગ કોઇ સારા કામ માટે કરીયે, અને કેહવાય છે ભગવાન નો વાસ હમેશા આપણા દિલ માં રહેલો છે તો,આ શરીર માં એવી કેમકિલ અને ઝેરી વસ્તુ શા માટે નખીયે, જેથી તમારા જીવન ના વર્ષો ઓછા થઈ અને એ પણ પછી ત્યાથી સારા થવા માટે નહી પણ એક બિમારી માંથી બીજી બિમારી લેવા માટે હોસ્પીટ્લ જવું પડે.(કેમ કે કોઇપણ દવા તમારી બિમારી ને ૧૦૦% સારી કરતી જ નથી એતો ખબ્રર જ હશે)
હજુ પણ સમય છે,આપણા બાપ-દાદા એ આપના વેલી અને એમને જીવેલી જિદંગી ૧૦૦વર્ષ ની હતી આપણી તો આટલી રેહવા ની જ નથી આટલુ સમજી લેજો,એમને ખાધલા ઘરેલુ અને શુધ્ધ ખોરાક નો જ ઉપયોગ કરો કેમ કે બહાર મળતી એક પણ વસ્તૂ ઓરીજીનલ નથી મળતી અને કદાચ મારા કેહવાથી કે સમજાવા થી કોઇ ફરક નથી પડવાનો,… તો પણ કદાચ ૫% લોકો ને પણ ફરક પડશે તો પણ મારો માટે આ મેસેજ સફળ થશે.
દરેક વસ્તુ માં એવા એવા ઝેરી કેમકીલ નાખેલા હોય છે કે એની કોઇ સિમા નથી મે નીચે તમને અમુક વિડીયો શેર કરીયા છે સાચા છે કે ખોટા એનો નિર્ણય તમારે લેવાનો છે.
વિદેશ માં ભેળ-સેળ નું પ્રમાણ નહિવત છે કેમ કે ભ્રષ્ટાચાર તો ત્યા પણ થતો હશે પણ ખાવા-પીવા ની વાનગી માં નહી હોય, આજે ચાઈના જેટલુ ડુબલીકેટ નથી બનાવતું એનાથી પણ વધારે તો આપણે હવે બનવાતા થઈ ગયા છીએ, ભ્રષ્ટાચાર માં તો આપણે અવલ દરજા માં આવીયે છીએ, કેમ કે જેટલુ મગજ આપણુ કામ કરવામા નથી ચાલતુ એના થી તો વધારે ભ્રષ્ટાચાર કેવી રીતે કરવો જેથી આપણે કોઈ પકડી ના શકે એમા ચાલે છે.આ ભ્રષ્ટાચાર ના કારણે જ અધિકારીઓ દ્રારા જ લોકો માં આવી હિમંત આવી છે કે કઈ નય પૈસા ખવદાવી દેશુ આપણુ કામ થઈ જશે ટેંશન શું લેવા નું, આટ્લા માટે આજે આ ભ્રષ્ટાચાર ખાવા-પીવા ના ઝેર રુપે આજે દરેક ના ઘર માં અને શરીર માં આવી ચુક્યો છે.
રોજ-બેરોજ સમાચાર માં આપણે શુ જોઈએ છીએ,દારુ પીવા હાલત માં હિટ એંડ રુન માં આટલા ના મુત્યુ ?જવાબદાર કોણ
આજ આ હોટલ માં ખાવા જતા ભોજન માથી મરેલી ગરોલી નકળી કે વંદો નીકળીયો. જવાબદાર કોણ?
રર્સ્તા કોઇ આવતા જતા શુ કોઇ સ્ત્રી પોતાને શુરક્ષિત અનુભવે છે ?
ચોરો માટે કોઈ ના પણ ઘર તોડવા બહુ જ આસન થઈ ગયુ છે કેમ ?
હલ્તા-ચલતા કોઇ પણ વય્ક્તી કોઇ ને નાન-નાની બાબત માટે પણ મારી નાખે છે કેમ ? ભય ક્યા ગયો ?
આ બધા નો જવાબ તો તમને ખબર જ છે પણ કોઇ આપી નહી શકે કેમ કે આજ જ્યા સુધી લોકો ને પોતાના પર કોઇ વિતત નથી ને ત્યા સુધી આપ્ણે જગ્રુત નથી થવાના રેહવાદો હું પણ કોના માટે આ કલમ લખી ને મેહનત કરુ છે ?
પણ આટલુ યાદ રાખજો.આ બધુ જવાદે ચાલશે એમા શુ થઈ ગયુ, આપ્ણે ક્યા રોજ બહાર જમવા જવુ છે.આપણે જોઈ લેશું પૈસા આપીંને આપણુ કામ થઈ જશે, આવા શબ્દો આપણે આપણી લાઈફ માં હજાર વખત વાપરીયે છીએ
